The 290 compares very favorably to the Oni Coco which is considered by many to be of the best small stream rods in Tenkara. We would say the Kuro and Coco 290 are both very close to action, feel weight and length. Which is good because if you want to take that action to a little larger stream the 340 is perfect. The action on both rods is brisk but not overly stiff or fast. Trout up to 15 inches will play nicely on these rods but if a surprise 16 incher comes along no worries. We like either rod with a 3.5 or 3.0 level line\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNormal\"\u003eThe rod is very light and nicely balanced in the hand. Like the Oni Coco it is void of any cork and the butt of the rod swells some compared to the rest of its length to form the handle. This makes the rod very sensitive. Some may think the skinny profile grows uncomfortable over a long session on the water.
